Rene Marion, P.Eng.
Rene Marion is the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company.
As an experienced senior executive in the mining sector, Mr. Marion has over twenty-five years of experience in mining operations, operational management and mine engineering along with acquisition evaluations, feasibility studies, development and mergers throughout the world.
During his career, he held increasingly senior roles with Barrick Gold, including Vice President, Technical Services. In 2005, he was appointed as Barrick's Regional Vice President, Russia and Central Asia. Prior to joining Gammon Gold, he had been seconded as Chief Operating Officer of Highland Gold Mining Limited, a publicly traded strategic partner of Barrick Gold.
Mr. Marion holds a BSc Degree in Mining Engineering (1985) from Queens University.
